Trap Bar Open End V2
Trap Bar Open End V2
The NC Fitness Trap Bar Open End V2 gives the user much more variety and ease than our standard open end trap bar. Standing up it can be easily loaded and acts as a bar jack keeping the weights off the floor. It has two heavy knurled grips of 27.5mm and 50mm when you want to mix things up a little. This is a great bar for multiple exercises.

About Trap Bars
The bar is a diamond shape, minus a side, which means that you stand inside of it and grip the handles laterally. This provides a more neutral hand position. It also positions the load around you which makes it ideal for shoulder shrugs.
Trap Bars are also great for deadlifts. They make it easier to teach deadlifts (especially with the two different handle heights) and allows your torso to remain upright, with less exertion on the spine. Trap Bars also target the quads more than the posterior chain, which means that the benefits are transferred more effectively into vertical leap training.
Shipping is Available Australia wide, we also have a showroom in Hallam, Victoria where you can see these in action yourself.

MaintenanceĀ
- make sure all bolts are tight
- Regularly clean the bar (See Below)
Basic cleaning of the bar to avoid rust:
- Cleaning the chalk out of the knurling removes the opportunity for moisture to build up in the gaps (chalk absorbs moisture and will draw moisture from the air, in turn causing rust to develop in the knurling)
- To rid the bar of chalk you need to use a hard-non-abrasive nylon bristle brush and ideally this should be done daily, however if you own 20-30 barbells, to clean these daily would be impossible, so in this instance cycle your maintenance weekly by cleaning half of your bars one week and the other half the next week to ensure the bars are regularly cleaned
- Another way to avoid rust developing is to spray the bar with WD-40:
- ā Ā To apply correctly spray the WD-40 on a rag and make sure to cover the entire shaft, sleeves and collars ofthe bar
- ā Ā Leave it for a few hours or overnight (whichever is more convenient) and then wipe o the excess with a drycloth
- ā Ā The environment and usage your barbell is exposed to will determine how regularly you need to apply WD-40
- ā Ā If the barbell is kept indoors and is only for home use, doing this once or twice a month would be more than enough
- ā Ā If the barbell is in a more exposed, open-aired environment or used multiple times a day it is recommended to do so weekly or even twice a week.
